Oscar De La Renta rose to fame in the global designing market in the 1960s when Jacqueline Kennedy wore one of his creations. Since then, his designs have been adorned by the most famous and influential women around the world, including names like Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush and Nancy Reagan. Oscar De La Renta's passion for haute couture pushed him to approach the editor-in-chief of Vogue, Diana Vreeland in 1963. Following her advice, De La Renta chose working for Arden over already established names like Dior. His line soon got recognized for its colorful palette, delicate prints, and smart use of ruffles.
